They reject far-right groups that are instigating gender discrimination and hate speeches to change electoral preferences.

On Wednesday, women’s organizations rejected the campaign of hate and violence that the Venezuelan far-right opposition is implementing in an attempt to alter the presidential elections of July 28.

“We emphatically reject the expressions of gender violence, discrimination, and instigation of hate crimes that the far-right executes through social media, seeking to discredit Venezuelan women with fascist pronouncements,” the Josefa Joaquina Sanchez Women’s Movement said in a statement.

“Expressions of contempt towards the Venezuelan people are recurrently promoted by groups that represent the interests of the U.S. empire and instigate violence,” it added, recalling that the opposition used a similar strategy in 2014 and 2017, when it fostered urban violence groups known as “guarimbas.”

“Let it be known: Venezuelan women are patriots and have risen and will continue to rise whenever necessary to defend the spaces of dignity they have conquered through the Bolivarian Revolution,” the Josefa Joaquina Sanchez Women’s Movement stressed.

The text reads, “Valera will deal a blow to fascism. In the state of Trujillo, the Valera municipality carries out a gigantic mobilization in unrestricted support for the candidate of peace and stability. Nicolas Maduro, president!

“On July 28, we will once again demonstrate our unwavering commitment to building a future of peace and love alongside our president Nicolas Maduro. We will not allow violence to stop our struggle nor the shadow of contempt to tarnish what we have achieved with so much effort,” it added.

In another public statement, the Women’s Vice Presidency of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) also emphatically rejected the far-right opposition and its acts and speeches of violence, machismo, racism, classism, and misogyny.

“We invite them to engage in a political contest without instigating hate as our country deserves,” the PSUV Women’s Vice Presidency stated.

“We will actively participate in the July 28 elections, remembering the struggles of our ancestors, heroines, and founding fathers,” it added, emphasizing that socialist women will lead President Maduro to victory.

“They will never be able to subdue us again… We are in the fight, defense, and exercise of our rights. They will not deceive us. We are the granddaughters of Bolivar and the daughters of Chavez. We are the mothers who give life and build the nation,” the PSUV militants highlighted, stressing that “With the vote of women, Nicolas will win again!”
