Venezuelan Authorities Condemn Far-Right Attacks on the Electoral Process

Delcy Rodríguez related to the diplomatic corps the serious acts committed by the far right in relation to the presidential elections of 28J.

Venezuela’s Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, and Foreign Minister Yvan Gil held a meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited in Caracas on Thursday regarding the presidential elections of 28J, which resulted in the reelection of President Nicolás Maduro, with about 52 percent of the vote.

Rodríguez commented that Maduro Moros conducted a very cheerful election campaign despite the country being under imperialist aggression, with more than 930 unilateral restrictive measures that have impacted all spheres of life in the country.

It was stated that ten candidates representing 38 political parties had presented themselves for the elections.

He recalled that, although he participated in the election, the candidate of the extreme right, Edmundo González Urrutia, did not sign the Agreement on Recognition of Results of the Presidential Election, which eight candidates signed before the Electoral Power on 20 June.

He added that ten days before the election, this political force declared that it would not recognize the result issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE), but its own minutes, in anticipation of what they would do later with the fraudulent minutes submitted.

It was noted that on 27 July they registered a website in the UK to publish their own results. They considered that they wanted to supplant the CNE, an act that does not respect laws and the Venezuelan Constitution.

It was noticed that the 28J, González Urrutia questioned that the CNE would publish the results, because he already knew of the imminent and massive cyber attack that began hours later against the institutions of the Venezuelan state, orchestrated by the US. and the American magnate Elon Musk. His plan was to block the transmission of results in order to impose his alleged fraudulent records, he said.

He claimed that the publication of the alleged minutes by the extreme right was another shameful matter, with numerous inconsistencies: dead voters, minutes without signatures of election witnesses and members of the Zero acts, similar voting patterns in all states…

Noted that these alleged results were published on its website, not the CNE’s. He invited the international media to publish the truth of what is happening in Venezuela.

Based on these irregularities, this Wednesday the Venezuelan Public Ministry opened an investigation into this page, with which it intended to supplant the CNE and through which it has disclosed false information, which generates confusion in the population.

He denounced that representatives of the extreme right called on 29 and 30 July for violent acts, led by people who received instructions from the U.S., Colombia and Peru.

Recalled that they burned and vandalized schools, health institutions, transport terminals, food storage centers, monuments, local government headquarters and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), among many other centers that provide vital services to the people, in addition to leaving behind two soldiers killed, more than 140 security personnel injured and people whose property was destroyed.

He explained that, in view of this situation, President Nicolás Maduro went to the Supreme Court of Justice, before whose Electoral Chamber he presented a contentious appeal to preserve the peace and conduct an expert assessment of the election.

He stressed that after the Electoral Chamber admitted the appeal filed by Maduro Moros, González Urrutia did not appear before the TSJ to commit to present his views on the election.

He added that he also did not appear on Wednesday, when it was his duty to comply with the legal obligation to submit the information in his possession about the elections. Representatives of political parties that support González Urrutia also did not present any minutes or evidence to support her alleged victory.

The Venezuelan executive vice president appreciated that the coup plotters used the dictatorship of social networks, algorithms, concentration of capital of the giants of technology, to promote hate messages and fascist attacks against a sovereign state.

He urged governments of other sovereign states to rethink what to do in the face of this scenario of social networks becoming instruments of aggression to generate anguish, terror, death and violence.
