Venezuela Rejects US State Department Statements

‘Venezuela is a sovereign country with solid institutions,’ Foreign Affairs Minister Gil stressed.

On Monday, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil of Venezuela repudiated the statements of State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, who made it clear that his country seeks to ignore the 2024 presidential elections and impose a government of its own convenience. Below is the Bolivarian diplomat’s statement.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiates the statements made by the U.S. Department of State, which reveal that it is leading a coup attempt and disregards the democratic will of the Venezuelan people who re-elected President Nicolas Maduro for the 2025-2031 term.

It is outrageous that a government which has repeatedly disregarded Venezuelan electoral processes over the past 20 years, been involved in all attempts at destabilization, assassination, invasions, and overthrowing efforts against the Venezuelan people, and has received and sheltered the main leaders and perpetrators of conspiracies, terrorist acts, and violence, seeks to impose a new puppet government in Venezuela, mirroring its failed 2019 strategy. Today, they are marked by defeat with their Guaido 2.0 strategy.

The current U.S. administration and its agents in Venezuela have made pacts with none other than transnational organized crime groups, trained in Chile, Peru, and the United States, linked to the now-defunct Aragua Train and Del Llano Train, with the aim of terrorizing the population through persecution, intimidation, and murder.

Washington also seeks to pressure regional governments to promote a change in the electoral outcome based on information fabricated by CIA agents and magnates of corporate media monopolies and social networks.

Venezuela is a sovereign country with solid institutions, which are the only ones with the legitimacy to decide on matters concerning its people without any foreign interference. Neither its government nor its people will rest when it comes to defending their sovereignty, peace, and democratic will.

Venezuela is not anyone’s colony!
