“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the publication of the so-called ‘Preliminary Report’ by the Electoral Expert Panel of the United Nations, which disseminates a series of lies, violating both in content and method not only the principles governing the functioning of expert groups but also the terms of rReference agreed upon with the Venezuelan Electoral Authority. This represents a reckless act that undermines confidence in the mechanisms designed for cooperation and technical assistance.

The agents Domenico Tuccinardi, Italian and head of the delegation; Fernanda Abreu, Portuguese; Roly Davila, Guatemalan; and Maria de Lourdes Gonzalez, Mexican; had extensive access to all phases of the electoral process, in which President Nicolas Maduro Moros was declared winner, as recorded in the proclamation act issued by the National Electoral Council.

They were able to verify the excellent functioning of the Venezuelan system, which is why the opinion expressed in their irresponsible report is nothing more than propaganda serving the coup-mongering interests of the Venezuelan far-right, with whom they interacted constantly before, during, and after the elections. These far-right leaders designed a violent plan for August 29 and 30, disregarding the electoral results—public, notorious, and widely covered events—that the ‘experts’ deliberately conceal.

It is noteworthy that during their stay in Venezuela, the members of this fake expert panel had frequent direct contacts, via telephone and through videoconferences, with officials from the U.S. Department of State.

Therefore, there is no doubt that their statements are the result of hostile instructions emanating from this entity, which they seem to serve, distancing themselves from the commitments they should have undertaken as part of their mandate.

The unethical and unprofessional behavior of this group of agents leaves a negative mark due to their erratic actions, allowing themselves to be manipulated and pushing a violent agenda with the sole purpose of damaging Venezuelan democracy and sowing doubts about the functioning of its constitutional institutions.

This attack on democracy, carried out by false electoral experts, will also fail. In Venezuela, justice, and respect for the sovereign will of its people will prevail.
