He recalled that during the event of the opposition primary, in October 2023, a colossal fraud was perpetrated. He said that during subsequent interrogations to clarify this shameful fact, opponents confessed to the prosecutors who estimated that about 300,000 people would have attended, They didn’t have a precise record of it because they didn’t use the system that the CNE deploys, and they wanted to make it look like 3 million people had come.
He said that the organizers of that farce burned the documents in which they allegedly registered the participants, so as not to leave traces of their fraudulent intention.
William Saab announced that for the elections of next 28 July, a total of 1,236 officials will be deployed in the elections to prevent any attempt to hinder process.
He stressed that the officials will remain for 24 hours in all fiscal headquarters to monitor in real time what is going to happen.
He recalled that in many countries of the world there are three powers, the executive, the legislative and the judicial, but stressed that Venezuela escapes from the traditional. “Venezuela has two new powers, the electoral and the citizen, a different structure that allows the citizen to establish contact with them, and I would add a sixth power, the people’s power”, he asserted.
Saab stated that “Venezuela is today in the crosshairs, not because of the elections on July 28, but also because of the natural reserves we have, because it is one of the richest countries in the world that broke free from the colonial yoke of the United States” after the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.
He also mentioned that one of his functions as prosecutor is to avoid impunity, anarchy, promote prevention, workshops, talks and forums. He said that for seven years “we have served one million 300 thousand people” in contacts with the citizenry in the neighborhoods, communes and their usual spaces.
