The residents of Yari Road, Mumbai and visitors from far distances came together to commemorate 10th Moharram, the martyrdom day of Imam Hussain as, his family and the best companions. With all the grief in the mourners, this significant event reaffirms their devotion to righteousness and protest against injustice.

This Muharram 2024, as the sacrifices in Karbala are honoured, the community stood strong in solidarity with the oppressed of Gaza, Quds, Palestine while reflecting on the enduring struggle for justice and peace. Moharram processions symbolizes resilience and unity, echoing Imam Hussain’s unwavering stance against tyranny, and hence the lovers of Imam Hussain as are witnessed to be responding firmly against injustice across the world, especially for Qibla e Awwal, Quds.

This commemoration was adorned with banners and flyers distributed to passersby with information on the reason and purpose of this pious procession. The local Shia community reaffirmed their commitment for support to those who are facing injustice worldwide.

So many in this procession wore the message “The path to Al Quds passes through Karbala” on their tshirts.

This was one of those few great annual events that are organised by Anjuman e Khadim e Hussain as Trust, Zaib Palace, Yari Road, Andheri West, Mumbai.
