Nicaraguan Government Congratulates Chad on Its Independence Anniversary

The Nicaraguan Government, headed by the President Daniel Ortega, sent a congratulation message to the Republic of Chad, which will celebrate the 64th Anniversary of Independence next August 11th.

On behalf of the People and Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua, we wish to express our most sincere congratulations to the People and Government of the Republic of Chad, on commemorating the 64th Anniversary of Independence, on August 11.

Also, the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua, reiterate its invariable will to continue strengthening the Bonds of Brotherhood, Solidarity and Cooperation that unite our Peoples and Governments.

Daniel Ortega also sent to the Chadian president Mahamat Déby Itno their “affection of all Nicaraguans for the Brotherly People of Chad.”

In 1960, Chad gained its independence under the leadership of François Tombalbaye who was president from 1960 to 1979.
