“The New Mexican School represents a new educational model, which is based on this peaceful revolution, the revolution of consciences,” said the former head of government of Mexico City during an event in the state of Tlaxcala.

Sheinbaum will also continue social policies related to pensions for senior citizens and the Sowing Life reforestation program, which will be elevated to constitutional status.

During her administration, she will create a program to support women aged 60 to 64, and another educational program to guarantee universal scholarships for children in preschool, elementary, and secondary education.

“Public education is not just classrooms and teachers. It is also necessary to support families so that boys and girls have no issues and can fulfill their dreams,” Sheinbaum said, emphasizing that “public education is the best of all educations.”

During the event in the state of Tlaxcala, the president-elect also reminded that education is not a privilege but a right for all citizens, as established in the Mexican Constitution.

“We couldn’t expect it to be any other way. It was the best thing that could happen to Mexicans. Having Claudia Sheinbaum as president is a blessing. She will continue the transformation,” President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador commented.
