Temperatures are estimated to reach 40 to 45 in Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, northern Hidalgo, among other states.

The National Meteorological System of Mexico reported on Thursday that high temperatures that can reach 40 degrees Celsius will persist in the country and cause an extremely hot environment.

“The atmosphere will persist from hot to extremely hot (typical of the season) in much of the country, with maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius in 25 states,” the entity said.

Likewise, he specified that maximum temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius are expected in Baja California, Campeche, Guerrero, Michoacán, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Yucatán.

Meanwhile, temperatures are forecast to be 40 to 45 degrees in Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, northern Hidalgo, Jalisco, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, northern and southwestern Puebla, Quintana Roo and Sinaloa.

Likewise, the maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius will reach the southwest of the State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Querétaro and Zacatecas, and 30 to 35 degrees in Aguascalientes, Mexico City and Tlaxcala”.

“Due to the predicted high temperatures, the population is recommended to take preventive measures such as avoiding prolonged exposure to solar radiation, properly hydrate, pay special attention to chronic patients, children and older adults, as well as attending to the indications of the sector Health and Civil Protection”, indicated the entity.

Data from international agencies confirmed that 2023 was the warmest year, with record levels of greenhouse gas emissions, heat and ocean acidification, which increased sea level and affected glaciers.
