The attack, which took place at around 21:00 local time, comes after an American aggression on Jurf al-Sakhar, which left several dead and wounded of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
According to the US Department of Defense, several US soldiers were wounded during the attack allegedly perpetrated by Iranian-backed militias.
The actions come at a time when tensions in the Middle East are rising following Israel’s killings in recent days.
Less than a week ago the Zionist entity murdered Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah commander in Lebanon, and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
American officials reported that troops at the Al Asad air base are still assessing the damage.
