Gaza Strip: More Casualties as Palestinians Flee New Attacks
For the past week, the Israeli military has been conducting a ground operation against al-Shuja’iya under the pretext of fighting Palestinian militiamen there.
On Tuesday, dozens of Palestinians were killed or injured today in new Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, as thousands more, including the wounded and sick, evacuated the town of Khan Younis, again the target of military incursions.

The official Wafa news agency reported that at least eight people were killed and 30 injured after artillery shelling targeted the towns of Khan Younis and Rafah.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the uniformed forces need another four weeks to complete their campaign in Rafah, the epicenter of an offensive since early May that has caused severe damage to infrastructure and the exodus of more than a million Palestinians.
According to Wafa, in the Nuseirat refugee camp, a minor was killed this morning and several citizens were wounded in an Israeli fighter raid.
Aviation and artillery also fired on the northern Gaza City neighborhoods of Al-Shuja’iya and Al-Zaytoun.
For the past week, the Israeli military has been conducting a ground operation against al-Shuja’iya under the pretext of fighting Palestinian militiamen there.
The ground offensive was extended yesterday to Khan Younis, shortly after the evacuation order was issued by the army, which announced two more fatalities from the fighting in the north on Tuesday.
Al Jazeera television warned that hundreds of patients were forced to leave the European Hospital there because of threats from the IDF.
Thousands of refugees in the camps have also begun to move to other areas, which is a death sentence for many of them, the news outlet stressed.
This is the second large-scale incursion into the southern urban center in the past eight months, which the IDF justified by the firing of a barrage of 20 rockets from there into Israel.
“The latest mass evacuation order comes as Israeli tanks and fierce fighting trap thousands of Palestinians in Rafah and al-Shuja’iya,” Al Jazeera warned.
According to official figures, since the outbreak of the new cycle of violence on 7 October last year, more than 37,900 people have been killed in the coastal enclave and some 80,000 injured.
