Five injured in serious crash on Nordeste Highway in Monte Plata
Monte Plata, DR.- At least five people were injured in a head-on collision early Tuesday morning on the Nordeste Highway near the entrance to Gonzalo, Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata. The crash involved a Ford SUV and a Hyundai car, with the SUV driver trapped for nearly three hours before being rescued by passersby.Following the collision, the Hyundai caught fire, forcing its injured occupants to escape quickly. The victims, reportedly from Nagua and en route to work, were transported by 911 ambulances to hospitals in Sabana Grande de Boyá and Monte Plata, with some in critical condition.Firefighters extinguished the flames, while Digesett agents managed traffic congestion in the area. Authorities continue investigating the accident’s causes and have yet to release the identities of the injured.
