“Fascism in Venezuela Will Not Pass,” Casa de Las Americas Declared
“Monroe’s spirit is still alive and active in Our America”
On Monday, after the election day in Venezuela on July 28, the Casa de las Americas, a Latin American center in Havana, Cuba, issued a statement on the attempts of the right within and outside Venezuela to ignore the legitimate results of the presidential elections last Sunday.

However, the Casa de las Americas stated that “Monroe’s spirit is still alive and active in Our America”. He called this spirit “the new, emboldened and euphoric fascism”.
This fascism according to the center reappeared through the imperialist attitude of the Organization of American States (OAS).

To this fascist attempt, according to Casa de las Americas, 9 nations “represented by their foreign ministers rushed, before the official announcement of the National Electoral Council, to express “deep concern over the conduct of the presidential elections in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela” and demand that the “the complete review of results with the presence of independent election observers”.
“Argentine President Javier Milei went much further in his statements. He announced “a crushing victory of the opposition” over a project that has only meant “years of socialism, misery, decay and death”. He concluded: “Argentina will not recognize another fraud and hopes that the Armed Forces this time defend democracy and the popular will,” said Casa de las Americas.
