The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli bombing of the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of innocent Palestinian civilians.
Egypt called on Israel to “stop despising the lives of defenceless civilian citizens and adhere to humanitarian norms” of international law and international humanitarian law, and stressed that “these crimes are not prescriptive, and cannot be accepted under any justification”.
“These ongoing violations against Palestinian citizens add serious complications to the ongoing efforts to achieve calm and a ceasefire”added Egypt, one of the main mediators between Israel and the Palestinian resistance anti-occupation group Hamas along with the United States and Qatar.
On the other hand, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry issued a similar statement condemning Israel and its “continued brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip, and its systematic targeting of civilians and shelters for displaced persons, most recently the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of displaced persons’.”
Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah said the Kingdom of Jordan condemns continued violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, its defiance of the international community and the international will calling for an end to the war.
The statement also emphasizes the absolute rejection of the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and Israel’s obstruction of the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
Al-Qudah stressed the need for the international community to move immediately and effectively and provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and for hospitals and relief organizations that play a major humanitarian role in providing basic vital services to the Palestinians in the sector.
